What era is it?
Springtime in Georgia can have an old-time vibe with an antique glow. There is an aura about the air. It’s easy to overlook, with the struggle over pollen, but it is definitely there. It’s temporary, so try to recognize and enjoy it if you can. I think that glow is captured in the photo above. The subject is a blueberry branch with blossoms and small green blueberries forming. The picture was taken 5 minutes ago, but if I told you it was 50 years ago, you’d probably believe it.
A positive spin
For the past few weeks the air has been heavy with pollen (mostly pine pollen). This can be a terrible time of year with everything powdered yellow. While the pollen is a bear to deal with, it seems to be the source that is casting this great warm-undertone ambiance that is unique to springtime. (It’s also a nice time for outdoor portraits.)
Blooming blueberries
Pine isn’t the only thing that’s been blooming. Our blueberries have been blooming for quite a while now. Our last predicted frost date for this area is actually April 12th, so we are almost there. Frost can ruin a blueberry season because it will freeze the blooms. No blooms, no berries. So far this year though, it is looking great! We are on track for a bountiful harvest season in summer. Mark your calendar for June, when school is out, the weather is warm, and things are a bit more relaxed. Come and enjoy a great outdoor activity picking fresh blueberries that are grown with organic practices.
Here are a few more photos. Have a great Spring everyone. Hope to see you in June!
