Fourth of July Week

Fourth of July Week Blueberries

An unbelievable year

It is rare that blueberry season will last into July, but here we are! It makes a great family outing and picking them is a breeze. (More photos below) So, Happy Fourth of July Week! You can make blueberry jelly, blueberry wine, blueberry juice, canning, freezing, dehydrating – so many possibilities. This is a special week with special pricing. So come on out (see schedule) and just look at this photo:

2024 Blueberries at RabbitEye Farm

Special Pricing

In honor of the holiday week, we are offering you a second bucket for half price. So, the first bucket is $20 and the second is only $10! You can fill them both easily, so pick one for a friend or for your freezer.

Freezing is easy

You will thank yourself later for thinking ahead and freezing some blueberries while they are so bountiful. A blueberry cobbler makes any holiday a bit more special. Frozen blueberries make a wonderful cobbler, and no thawing is necessary! No kidding, use them straight from the freezer into your recipe. What a life-saver for a last minute dessert.

Happy Pickers

Here are a few snapshots of some happy pickers:

How it works

We provide a bucket and liner. (We keep the bucket), You keep the liner to gently carry your berries home. It’s that easy! The bucket size is a generous two and a half quarts and the price is $20 per bucket. (Second bucket is only $10 this Fourth-of-July week!!) So all you have to do is show up… best if you wear a hat.

Do you spray your plants?

No. Our berries are grown with organic practices and are not sprayed with any pesticide. The only thing we put on our berry plants is rain, and when it doesn’t rain, we water them with spring water.

Blueberry Sweetness

Blueberry Sweetness

These smiles are just as natural as the blueberries at RabbitEye Farm, West Point, GA. [Quicklink to Directions Here] We have several varieties of blueberries that are at their peak right now. All are grown with natural practices and no pesticides. The rows of bushes are terraced and easy to pick from a top side and a lower side. That’s great for both tall and small folks! We supply a bucket with a liner… we keep the bucket, but you simply lift out the liner to gently carry your berries home. (you can see what they are like in the photos… more below)

Today starts the second full week in June already! Remember that blueberry season doesn’t usually last past the month of June, so don’t wait too late. Blueberries freeze really well, and many of our wonderful berry lovers have already picked some for the winter months.

We have morning and evening picks listed because that is when there is shade on the field. (If you need to come during the in-between hours, its okay on days Sunday thru Thursday.)

Sewing Classes

RabbitEye Farm wants to help promote the Gray Hill School Farm’s latest sustainability class “Sewing!” Learn how to sew on Monday nights, and guess what? It’s offered free! Classes start June 17th. Find out more about this at: https://www.grayhillschoolfarm.org/
