Sweet, Juicy & Washed with Rain

What does summer taste like? For many, it tastes like sweet, juicy, irresistible, fresh-picked berries. We grow our berries with organic practices and do not use any pesticides. Sunday’s pick was an experience! (see slideshow below) Lots of folks grabbed the opportunity to score some blackberries and blueberries even though it rained. They ‘seized the day’ and enjoyed the present time rather than waiting for the future – carpe diem! Our wish is for you to have a good time and enjoy the great outdoors. For some, it was a good excuse to wear really cool boots. It didn’t rain the entire day, so not everyone got wet, but those that did sure looked like they had fun. Thank you to everyone who came out. It doesn’t take long to pick a bucket of berries either… unless you eat them all.

Next Pick Day is Thursday, June 8th, 2017 – blueberries and blackberries. The blueberries have been ripening early and the blackberries are slightly late this year, but are ripening up every day with increasing amounts. It’s best to come early. We are looking forward to hosting the Senior Active Life group from LaGrange. Their group is scheduled on Thursday at 9AM. Rain or shine, we are open. This large group came last year and must have had a good time since they are coming back this year.

The day was terrific from beginning to end even in the rain.

6AM is not too early for some folks, and 9PM is not too late for others. The blackberries went early and so did a lot of the veggies, but there still are a ton of blueberries! Some even found a few red raspberries. We had so many wonderful visitors even during the rain times! Yep, its summertime and a little water didn’t stop these folks from having a good time.
